Hi, I bought my MkII 1990 GTI as a first car - 5 yrs ago, i didnt really know what i was getting into at the time, just fell in love with the sound it made!! Anyway the car is still going strong and I have never looked back!!  Im now looking at buying a MKIII or IV aswell, great site guys!!  :wink:

Welcome miss.....and may I recommend a mk3 (everbody will now diss the mk3 after me saying that!) and check the mk3 and mk4 section's for help and advice on finding a good one :smiley:

and yes we will diss the mk3 comment , everyone knows the best golf was the mkII :D (i wouldnt say no to the r-gti mk5 though hehe)

Have been looking at Mk III / IV threads and found some helpful tips on finding a good one, thanks.  I have to agree with UKU though, Mk II will always be no 1 for me, although a V6 would be nice in my xmas stocking, Santa!!

Mk 3's a great! Vr6 is good but can be expensive so find a reall good one if thats what you fancy.
