Title: Panel filter/throttle body
Post by: Winso on 24 November 2006, 17:43
Hi all. Just fitted a K&N panel filter to my 1.8 8v GL and I'm pretty pleased with the results actually. Not noticeably more power or anything but much more throttle response and a deeper noise. Anyway I've got the usual 'throttle body needs cleaning' problems (sometimes trying so stall when I dip the clutch and revs dropping right off. Since I changed the filter this has been happening way more often, just wondering if its connected? Not that it really matters cos the car's getting a full service and throttle body cleanout tomorrow anyway! I'm just curious!

checkthe warm air feed pipe to the metal shroud raound the zaust manifold, make sure the vacuum lines are hooked up to the airbox, and that the flap in the box opens when the engine is running.
