Title: Throttle body
Post by: boyob32 on 24 November 2006, 10:09

My car is fluctuating when idle. I have cleaned the MAF and it has improved it however it is still happening...

I've read a few posts and i'm under the impression that cleaning the throttle body may help, is this so???

Also if i were to attempt it do i need to use vag com after re installing?? Again some posts say you need to, where as some don't....??

its easy to clean all you do is disconnect the pipe and use some wd40 and a cloth and clean inside the just put the pipe back  but i would also check the rocker cover breather pipe for cracks as this is what mine did and the idle was all over the place

cheers for that. How much do the breather pipes cost if a replacement is needed?

Another silly question....there is a clamp fitted to one of the pipes, how do i remove it so that i can re-use it? or do i just have to replace it?

the pipe was about £27 but i had to pay £5 extra to get it next day  i just rerplaced the clips with jubilee clips cause apparently you need a tool to put em back on properly but i just sprung them open with a screw driver bein carefull not to slip lol
