Hi
I have my Golf GTI for about 1 week now and it's a lovely car but i have just noticed a few problems that annoying me......... The car makes a funny noise when reversing think it might be something to do with the power steering it makes a simular noise when slowing down in second to stop. Then last night was turning right on a sharpish corner and it was raining and the car started to turn then the steering went all heavy almost unmovable!!!! Also what kind of oil would be best to put in???????
Any help would be much appreciated

someone correct me if im wrong but the noises you describe are normal. most cars make a whining noise when reversing and my golf makes the same type of noise when slowing down in second - its just the engine braking.

The steering issue is the power steering belt slipping. Mine does the same. I have tightened the belt but it still does it now and again. It should have a guard below it that is missing on mine.
The best oil is synta silver semi synthetic bought from either the dealer or GSF. This is VW's own brand oil.
