My starter motor wont crank due to the earth straps being either missing or in the wrong places..!!
Can anyone tell me where the earth straps should go on a Mk1 Cab??
I have one from the earth terminal of the battery which is definately been played about with.
And I believe there should be one to the gearbox so that my starter gets earthed..??
Thanking you in advance.
Jason.

battery -> battery tray -> bracket on gearbox somewhere
What I'd do is upgrade to late MK2/MK3 earthing, you replace the rear gearbox mounting bolt for one with a stud on the end, and run the earth there. That should ensure the starter gets a really good earth :)

I also have a mk1 Cabby,
i got a prob with the heater not working, well :undecided:, it works fine for about 4-5 mins then fades away, only to come back to life if i drive over a manhole/ditch/hump.
Could this also be down to a bad earthing on the car?

I take it you mean the fan? It may be damaged wiring to the resistor, or the resistor itself is buggered. Its easy to get to on a MK1, open the bonnet & remove the plastic scuttle cover (carefully!!)
You'll see the fresh air intake grill, remove it then you'll see the blower fan. It comes out from above though I'm not 100% sure how, check these links:
