Title: Ford RST Recaros Pros and Cons
Post by: D16vGti on 20 November 2006, 15:14
Hi guys,

Seen a few of these for sale and have seen on one of the forums, not sure which, that they can be fitted in to mk2. Has anybody done this? if so what was required to get them to fit?

If the above is the case then why do people pay extortionate amounts for the vw recaros when the rst recaros are changing hands for a lot less?

What are the pros and cons of the rst recaros and vw recaros? is there any major differences?

I have done a search and nothing came up.

Cheers for any info

Dan

Ford Recaros are slightly different to 'normal' Recaros, the std Recaro seat frames wont fit.  They can be made to fit with a bit of modification, but I dunno exactly whats involved...

I thought that was the case, just thought I'd ask as some went on ebay earlier for 46quid!

Think I'll stick with the extra expense and have the piece of mind that vw ones will fit straight in!

Cheers

also vw recaro's tend to be electric, most people that put ford recaro's inot vw's butcher a set of seats and weld a subframe one.
