it appears to be just a door, but either way i'm going through her insurance! probably going to be a write off! as the other rear door is not opening properly!!! my boyfriend saw her do it.. she said her foot slipped! thee top of the door is now no-where near the rubber seal, and i can get my fingers between top of door and car.
-
Sorry to hear that mate and I hope it works out for you some how ! That fits rite into my perception of a Tigra driver
-
Yikes.
Hope it gets sorted soon hun :)
-
how much do you reckon it'll cost to fix? best goin thru insurance or asking her to cough up?
-
Our members aint havin much luck at the moment are we
looks like just a door , but depends on if its damaged the arch at all
-
thats sh!t han
just a door by the looks of it is all it needs
i would try a scrap yard you might find one the same colour
-
Insurance jobbie.....not your fault and all insurance companies are sh*te (and pay their staff sh*t bonuses despite record profit's)and should pay all they should, and as you know I work for one!!!! :nerd:
p.s nice autolock sticker inviting thieves for a look! and you worked for motorword, you should know better..
-
sorry i can't help but laugh. Anyhow it's only a door get it done.
-
i was lucky enuff to find the doors i put on originally, VW have said im lucky to find doors as its a mk3 colour!! god damn runout models! lol
ahwell.. damage seems to be a door so i either get it fixed or written off! :)
-
I got hit in the rear door, and even though it was the other person's fault, they were trying to make out it was my fault. My door was knackered kinda like yours han. Took it to be assessed and the bodyshop reckoned it would cost at least £500 and my excess on the insurance was already £250 and the other person wanted £500 for a smashed headlight and small dent in his wing.
I got the insurance company to settle it without admitting fault cos it wasn't my fault, but couldn't prove it was his fault. Lost my no claims, but bought a door from a breakers for £35 in the right colour and got a small garage to swap the door over for £30.
-
awww sh!t girl thats bad news  At least if you can clame on there insurance its money towards your cab!
-
how did she not know she was reversing into it? as soon as u bump sumthing, ud stop..she must o been reversing quite quick!
go through the insurance chick..every fecker else does and it wasn your fault..why should you been searchin for a door?
Dinx
-
i was parked and in my boyfriends house at the time, he came back from work and saw her reverse into it. she accepts claim as her foot slipped!!!
i'm not lookin for a door was enough hassle when i replaced them both before!!! hopefully it'll be write off saves me selling!
-
Only problem there is if they do write it off then you probably wont get its true value!
You might be able to buy it back off them and either repair it yourself or break it for spares.
Good luck.
-
bad luck i had the exact same thing happen to my first golf never found out who did mine though. i take it your not bothering with the heater then i did email you
-
go through insurance... let em right it off... put money in bank, scav lifts and walk etc until the money you got along with your other insurance claim thing = enough to buy a cab.... job done
-
go through the insurance and dont accept their first offer as they will prob write it off with it being an old car!
then u have some cash towards your cab
but dont spend the money on shoes
-
I agree. It's not your fault, you shouldn't have to sort it out. That's why we pay insurance! They probably will write it off, but as so many people have said should give you some money towards a cab :)
-
i'm happy for it to be written off! prob get more out of it... split car for bits, put back to standard and flog with 6months tax and test! :)
-
Nightmare. Why not buy it off the insurance company and get someone to fix it cheaply? May come out of it quids in!
-
but dont spend the money on shoes
