hi, i have got a mk3 gti 16v, a week ago the cam belt slipped so basically done a engine rebuild eg replaced valves that were bent, new cambelt kit new cam pullie and new head bolts. now it is all put together it wont start! for the first second it sounds like there is compression there but then it seems to stop and the starter motor seems to make a funny noise. any ideas????

the car is now running fine.  :laugh: one of the air pipes was blocked.
