Post by: tsr_adi on 18 November 2006, 16:18
is it normal for mk2 gti MFAs to read an average speed of around 20mph all the time? n for the temp guage to tell me its summer wen its winter? n how does it work out its mpg? im guessin my 1.9 tsr engine will be a lower mpg figure than it shows?

You've proberly got a duff temp senser and your mpg is worked out by the fuel used over what distance you travel. This will then give a true/ish reading no matter what bottom end.

My average speed is normally around 29mph (that's with me living in north scotland with reasonably fast quietish roads).  and the guy above me is right about the mpg, just simple maths that work it out, same as the avg mph really.
