oopss... well doin my 1st trackday in the vr6 yesterday the brakes started making some rare old grinding noises as the day went on...... i had the front wheels off a few weeks ago and there was about 5mm of meat on each pad and the discs were scabby, id alreadt got brand new vw discs and pads but thought these would do till after the trackday.... so the brakes got worse and the noise got louder but we still keep at it doing a healthy 9 mpg round cadwell  after walkin the dog this morning i thought id whip the fronts off and take a look..... everything came undone unlike the rear brakes last week.. they were so far worn the pistons had nearly popped out the calipers
hes a pic or 4 of what was left... check how much of the the actual baking plate has worn... lol

so i learnt lesson number one for trackdays , you will push your brakes harder than you do on the road... cheap pads last no time at all..... bunged vw bits on for now but will be getting some drilled discs and harder pads soon...

Gotta love it
some trimple melted brakes , surprised there were no brown pant moments with em like that

suprisingly enough there werent, you just had to back off the gas a bit earlier, they still slowed you down but i heard from spectators i has sparks coming out the front wheels.... i can see why now... lol

sounds like a good lesson learned without too much heart ache and much fun in the process. 9 mpg is a good effort!

Sparks from the wheels >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> back to the future styleeeeee

You don't need any new discs Gaz, those one's you've already got look like they've got some nice grooves in them already............no, wait a minute.....
