Title: cam's on 16v gti

hello all, im after doing some engine mod's to my mk 3 16v gti. i am thinking of camming it, has anyone done it? if so, what kind of gains will i be looking at and how much trouble can they cause? any tip's on tuning will be much obliged. thanks  :smiley:

hi shaun, not done this, but considered it a while back. It depends on what you use you car for really. There are mild cams that might give an extra 5-10bhp at the top of the rev range, but might make idle a little lumpy, high lift cams might give 10bhp+ at high revs, although you'd have to increase the rev limit by remapping to make the most of it. Same again idle would be terrible.
Since my car is a daily runner used by myself and wife, decided not to do it.
