Can't remember whether I've posted in here or not so here goes.
My names Dan, I bought my H reg 16valver on the 22nd october this year and I'm loving it as I was previously driving round in a sh!ty ford feista 1.8d until some wonderful person nicked it and trashed it!! :embarassed:
I am very thankful though as it meant that I had an excuse to buy a new car!  As they say every cloud has a silver lining!
The cars standard at the mo, however, I've already got a few bits ordered, as soon as they are fitted I'll post pics!

Soon to have the front end modified. I'll post pics again once its done, hopefully tomorrow.

Howdo dan? tidy lookin motor you got yourself there.
-
Thank you
-
nice car, whats that colour called?
-
really not much there to do by the looks of it. Set of wide bbs rm's with coded centres, huge drop and clear lights, job done! Stunning colour by the way!
-
L52M scwarzblau or blue/black I believe.
You still living in preston Neaty?
Juan - I've debadged the front and coverted to single lamps with crystal headlights and bumper indicators, unfortunately my insurance company won't give me an expected increase in insurance quote for lowering the car until after I've had a kit fitted and an engineer check it over, so I'm not dropping it until I can afford to change insurance groups, as for rims and styling I'm allowed to change the rims at no extra cost so I will be doing in the not too distant future when finances allow. I like the colour too, I believe its one of the less common colours.

yes I am in Preston mate, are you from near here?
yes it is a colour you dont see all that often, I saw a one on autotrader in that colour not too long ago, was tempted to give him a call about it tbh!
liking the front end changes. For those indicators did you have to buy orange bulbs for it? or did they come with them?
-
I live in preston also mate, on st georges road near b&q
The indicators came with the bulbs and all the fittings, they're a bit shorter than the originals though and I had to pad out the bit that slides in to the bumper with some insulation tape to get them to fit solidly. But they do look loads better!
-
ah cool, i am just on sherwood way near asda (ish)
aye they do look good, i have some for mine to go on but havnt got any bulbs for them other than the normal ones but they arent gonna do much good if they are just clear ones are they
-
I go through that way to asda, I know where you mean. What you driving at the mo, as your 16v's under construction isn't it?
Flashing white indicators on the front, could be a little confusing!
-
yea I am just on there, vertually across from the sherwood pub. I will look out for your car in future.
at the moment I am driving nothing, nothing at all. Its good that I am saving loads of money on insurance and fuel etc but I cant go anywhere without relying on lifts!
yea clear indicator bulbs could be interesting when at roundabouts
-
Whats happening with your motor then? being "under construction"
Is it hush hush or common knowledge
-
oh its pretty common knowledge for those who read the project section, here check out this link for my project thread:
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=30893.0
its underconstruction indeed but at this rate wembley will be finished before the valver is ......
-
Oh yeah, I read that thread when I first signed up to the forum, forgot that it was your car. :embarassed:
So how long til she's back on the road?
-
well prob not 2006 to be honest. My target now for it to be road worthy and me using it is in time for Ultimate Dubs next february.
I have my wing, bonnet and bumper that is with a pro sprayer that I know but have not heard from him since I dropped them off and a new front panel coming from ebay. So basically as soon as they arrive we can get the whipped on. Could get it all done in a weekend i reckon but its just having all the bits.
-
 I think its starting to become busy season for paintshops working on show cars for next season.
Well if you need a hand with anything mate just ask.
-
nice one mate!

-
No I'm originally from Shrewsbury, but been up here at uni for 5 years off and on.
