Hi,
I have a 1993 Mk1 golf gti (sportline) and the oil light flashes sometimes when the oil temp is up and at very low revs (can happen when changing down). DOes anybody know what this could be? is it easy or do I need a new oil pump or worse??
Thanx
D

Do you mean the oil light on the dash or the red light on the temp gauge ?
The obvious thing if it's your oil light is to check your oil level.

the oil light on the dash flashes but the buzzer doesn't sound... the oil level is fine

I am experiencing the same problem - but today the little red oil warning light jsut stayed on all the way to work. I have checked the oil level via the dip-stick & it is fine. I assuming that it may be that my switch is knackered?

I've got this prob as well. Oil light is on constantly. Have done oil and filter change, replaced both switches and it's still on. Had the pressure checked and thats fine. One thing I have noticed is no lights come on the dash when I start the car up which leads me to believe it's a wiring fault.
