Just looked at all the bits that came with the Golf and its got a fitting certificate for a Cat 2:1 alarm fitted (the ones that upgrade a cat 2 immobiliser to a cat 1 alarm system).

Then looking through there doesn't seem to be a cat 2 immobiliser fitted so whoever fitted the alarm are complete bodge artists :angry:

The immboliser is only Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£30 off ebay so I'm gonna get that and get it fitted, then I'll have a cat 1 alarm at last :cool:
