Title: Oil

Whats the best oil to use in a mk3 1.8 spi 95 model? i've been told 15w40 but seems v.thick. I've always used 0w40 sport oil made by castrol(edge). is this too thin for a car thats done 100,000? no tapping at all or any probs that wud normally relate to thin oil.

Opinions?

Most people on here swear by VW's Synta Silver (myself included). Fair price for oil that does a fine job.
Just make sure you use a genuine VAG filter.
