Hello guys,
Have been lurking here for several weeks now, and thought is was time to register and say thanks for the advice I have picked up here...
I collect a GTI diamond black, 18" alloys + toys later this week. Coming from a Cayman S, it will be a little more sedate, but i'm looking forward to some old fashioned FWD fun.
I will post some pics soon.
I recognise a few faces from Boxa.net - hi Cass and Matt555.

Just out of interest, where are you getting the car from and is it the exact spec you wanted?
I'm in the market for one but want it ASAP without having to wait months for it.
-
Not the exact spec, but almost. Like you I was not prepared to wait around. I will let you know about the dealer and the service after I collect this week. I don't want to tempt fate, but I got a cracking deal -
import
3dr
manual
diamond black
18" monza alloys
full black leather
cruise control
arm rest
UK price £23170 - discount over 20% = one happy customer
-
forgot to add, it's a slow time of year for the dealers, so haggle hard.

Sounds a cracking deal, will much appreciate it if you can pass on the details of the importer once you've taken delivery! I want to get one within the next month.
The spec seems pretty much what i'm after.
Cheers

Ditto - spill the beans rohit...

Wow there Rohit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome! So just how long will you last with this baby
-
Hi fella, we don't see much of you on boxa.net these days...
Regards the GTI I plan to keep her for 12 months, or until a 997S / GT3 catches my eye...
Almost forgot, I have a deposit down for one of the first 2007 CTRs in the country, so we will see.
-
Howdy!
Things are a little quiet on the PC front of late, i'll be back on the case soon enough
I think it'll be money well spent on the CTR, I'm been dabbling but need to put my money where my mouth is and go put the readies down! Are you going to sell the slot of get the motor and then sell it on? Hopefully it'll rock, my old CTR left me feeling a little cold but the new one should fix that up....
You'll get the pull for a 997S fella, they are soooooooo bloody cool it's sick
I'm thinking maybe ditch the Box and GTi and get a 996 C4S for the misses and a Fiesta for me. It could work

RE: CTR, it all depends on the test drive, what the demand is like, and whether I fall for the GTI...It's really odd I'm looking forward to the collection of the GTI more than any recent Porsche...And it's not just down to the lack of OPC
Good to see you around and enjoying your cars.
-
Hi there Rohit and welcome.
Always sad to leave the Porsche fold but needs must etc !
Must say that I have had a few of these over the years and now that I am officially an old git and retired (), it's like meeting an old friend again. Not a Boxster, granted, but much more practical and hopefully almost as much fun, more cost effective and reliable.

Hello and welcome
-
cheers
-
Picked her up this afternoon....
A nice surprise was that the Highline computer was part of the specification.
So UK price would have been £23215......total discount was a fraction over 21%
Oh, for thoses that asked where I got her from - Motorpoint....take the sticker price as a guide and haggle hard, although the cars left in stock are quite basic.
-
Nice one Rohit, you going to get some pics up?
-

After 2 weeks the GTI has had to be rejected...
One of the best GTIs I have driven, but corroded front discs and poor paint finish meant it had to go...
May have to be another Porsche now.
-
Gutted for you fella!
VW build is somewhat pi55 poor of late!
I think a 997 would be better matey :smug:
-
Trying to close a deal on a 993C4S
Fair play to Motorpoint, full refund, no quibbling.
-
Sweet motor - best of luck with her
-
Don't suppose you got pictures of these problems did you? Especially for those of us awaiting an order...!

Sorry no. Just inspect the car properly in daylight.
