Any ideas if a gear box of an L Plate Golf Gti will fit on my P plate GTi ??

it should do yeah, well it'll definately fit as long as they are both the same type ie both cable change etc...

Not sure but may need to check ratios as I believe 16v and 8v are different. So depends if both cars are the same????

Yeah mate tehey are both 8v, any ideas what you would expect to pay to have it fitted ??  my dads mates a mechanic and has said 150-200 quid, whereas the golf that the part is coming out of is my sisters boyfriends he has 2 and his bro knows how to do it he does loads on cars although is not a proper mechanic but he said it would be cheaper, not sure who to go with is it a hard job ??
