What's wrong with the R32?
Do you think we might see a MkVI before an R36?
-
Doc,
What are the proposed/mythical specs for the R36 Golf ?
-
its basically a 3.6 litre V6 engine they used in the passat that is proposed to output between 280 - 300bhp, with the customery 4motion set up as used in the current R32.
-

I want one...
-
really doesnt seem like such a big leap forward to be honest. its only 0.4 of a litre more than the R32. thats 12.5% more.
if they put a V8 in the golf, that would be some big news.
-
+ 50 bhp is the bit I require
-
would be the most powerful golf ever if they brought it out
-
V8 would be way heavy...
-
plus i think they still use the VR6 type approach to it where its a narrow angle V6, so they would have to design a V8 that is narrow angle too. I could be wrong though as I am not certain that the 3.2 V6 is narrow angle
-
im sure they could throw in one of there W engines in there , you know the v within a v , might be fun , or it might be as fun in the back of a mark 2 ..........................powering the rear wheels..........................BRB just gotta go look on ebay.................................................
-
i would love to see them try and fit a W engine in a golf
-
Its narrow angle, yes
the 3.6 is all ready used in USA with 280bhp in passats
-
thanks for clearing the narrow angle thing up doc
-
How about a 3.6 TSI engine - now that would be fun... any guess's on the power output?
-
369 bhp would do the trick - I'd like an extra 120 bhp in my R32

Went to test drive an R32 again at weekend as thinking of changing my car (didn't get to drive it as it had broken down) at my local dealer. Sounds like the MK VI will be with us next year or year after. The sales man said they have started specing up the SE model at no extra cost to shift as many MK V's as they can. He had herd that the R36 is on it's way soon as well. Considering this is some one who had not heard of the edition 30 till I'd asked about it last week, I don't no what to make of it. Sales men. They had 6 Git's on the forecourt as well and I nearly laughed when he told me how much he'd give me for mine. How much value will the MK IV lose when the MK VI comes out?

Haven't got a postcard but answer to the question at the top of the post is Yes!

What were all the salesmen doing outside?

Trying to rip me off!
-
VW has released a 3.6 passet over hear at 29k if anyones interested.
-
resurrecting this one in the hope that someone has heard something? I found this but a bit old - http://www.germancarblog.com/2006/04/vw-golf-r36-expected-early-2007.html
Anyone know anything as nearly 300bhp would be worth changing the GTI for!
-
I heard rumours that the next gen golf (mkVI) will include an r36 range topper - i've heard that launch of the model has been delayed since the take over by audi boss, as he plans to move the vw brand more upmarket and going back to the drawing board for the golf - this includes the r36. Anybody correct me if i'm wrong though.
-
I think the guy's an idiot - the company is trying to improve productivity and he goes and pulls the Scirocco and host of other designs and wastes the hours of time and money thats gone into them just because he doesn't like them...

Dalgleish00
R36 Passat in VW driver magazine in Jan 07 edition quoted engine output at 300ps. so here's hoping

Now a 30th Edition and an R36 in my garage would be ideal.....Where's my credit card!!!!

Can I borrow your credit card   I promise to return it.
