Can somebody please tell me where is a good point to earth my amp in the boot of my mk3 golf cabriolet. I am currently having the problem of the sub fading in and out of power the car is in motion and stops, for example when the car is in motion it fades out and when i stop at lights it comes back on . This has led me to the fact it may be the earth that needs moving. Any help would be good. Cheers Mike

If I've ever had a problem with an earth, I just drilled a hole in a box section on the boot floor and put a self tapper in it with a washer.
Obviously remember to connect your earth cable to the screw, for obvious reasons.
And no, as you mention it, I haven't ever done that. At all. Ever. Nosiree.

I just used one of the headlight securing bolts. Not looked in a cab boot, but I assume you'll have those!
Of course, it does probably mean you'll need a longer earth cable though, depending on your Amp's position...

Don't forget you need to make the earth point as close as possible to the amp. Make sure it's a good earth, remove the paint a good distance around the earth contact point then cover it in hammerite so it won't rust. :smug:

If you can find a large enough ring terminal, what about using one of the seatbelt clip mounting bolts?
