Ive read about this before. The window relay needs reseting. Quite how you do this i dont know but im sure there is a thread about it on the edition 38 forum. Its something to do with the "anti dead children devise" When the window motor senses any pressure whilst its closeing, it automaticly opens so as not to decapitate any kids that are hanging out the window!!!!

Billy VW,
I had a simular problem to yours a 2 years ago. It sounds like when you've fitted the regulator there is a metal wire which clips inside the motor is'nt on properly aroung the cog. Be careful. wrap it round a bit a a time and make sure they're not over lapping. It can be a bastard to do. Hope this helps.
