Title: Catch on syncromesh when chaging to fourth

Im looking at a mk4 golf 1.4 on ebay.  They say the only problem with the car is a slight catch when chaging to fourth. Is this a big problem, what is the possible problem, and fixes for it.  Could this be a costly job, the car itself is quite cheap, so i wouldnt mind spending a few quid sorting out a minor problem.
