Title: 2.0 8 V Knocking

Well been out there this mporning and I knew there was a noise comming from the bay but thought it was perhaps the gearbox or alternator. But I think its the big ends or at least the ening!

Is it common for these to go. Its 100k 2 owner car with full VW history.?

Am I best to just get anotrher engine??

Any options or ideas would be good

very much doubt its the big ends or anything that serious.
100k on a vw with fsh is nothing, it's only just run in mate. 

see if anyone recommends a decent garage near you.
