Title: 10k miles, and I never knew......

......## blushes ## .........that in manual shift mode the `box will still kick down.

Let me explain.

Tootling along in 4th on a quiet country road today, `stick over to the left.
Press the throttle firmly, and the pickup is as you`d expect.
Stab the throttle, and with no other driver input, and in spite of the `manual` mode.........it changes into 2nd.

You live and learn, eh ?

I'm thinking i'll go with the manual and keep my £1330  :wink: But tomorrow i will have changed my mind again.  :undecided:

DSG is a great toy for speed merchants, but you may end up using full auto mode all the time and miss out on having the best manual gearbox around. Which is  :cry:

I definitely fall into that category, its just so easy to leave it in Drive!  :smug:
