Title: Atlas Greay In A Can?
Post by: bunter on 16 October 2006, 12:18
ok well i am feeling a bit bored and i was thinking that the rear spoiler on my car looks a bit dull in black plastic. im thinking of colour coding it and was wondering if there is anywhere that sells a colour close to atlas grey in a spray can as id like to have a go at doing it myself?

thanks. chris

Try halfords or even vw ,with vw they cost a bit more but are a top match.

I would go to propper paint supplier and ask them to mix a colour that matches YOUR car and then have it put into a rattle can, my mate runs a branch of Autopaint international and he mixed up the standard colour and then mixed paint to match the exact shade of my car, the difference was quite supprising !

I guess that colour difference would be particularly noticable on paint which oxidises badly, ie Tornado Red.

Atlas Grey should still be totally accurate I would have thought. It's a metallic clear over base finish isn't it?

I have done this exact thing and can confirm that VW do sell atlas grey on a can!

It is a Perfect match too! Costs about £6 for the base coat and the laquer.
