I took my GTI up to mid Wales last week and drove it on the mountain road from Rhayader to Aberystwyth, it's very narrow but great fun and the car felt awsome. The roads are great to drive on in wales with plenty of fast bends and good tarmac surface, and usualy quiet.
Is there a road you like to take a fast but of course safe  drive on?

yes pirbright bends in surrey (surprisingly near pirbright) big biker road lol they just repaved it and the corners are slightly banked its about 4-5 miles of road thru trees

For 3 sundays in a row in the summer, i got up at 0430ish and took my MK4 GT TDi (130) up to dartmoor. I kept mainly to the haytor/widdecombe-on the moor area, although at times i had no idea where i was, but it was fantastic! Arguably the best scenery in the country, with absolutely no-one else around....just watch those animals! Look forward to doing it in my MK5 GTI next summer

Had a weekend in North Yorkshire moors around Whitby. It's driving heaven up there and I'm told the scenery is pretty nice to. Would have spent hold weekend driving if not for the girlfriend. Well worth a visit.

if you want some fun then go to skelmersdale in lancashire. sh!te scenery as its basically a big industrial council estate but very fast carriageways and only roundabouts not 1 set of traffic lights, lovely.

Took the car out over the Snake Pass (A57 Glossop - Sheffield) last Saturday, very fast and twisty. Average fuel consuption for run 16mpg!, lots of smiles! So went over it again last night!

I'd have to say just about any where in Denmark. Most of the roads over there are table top smooth and totally empty

Can't beat the A835 from Inverness via Ullapool up the north west coast to Rhiconich. It's double track all the way, and once you get to Ullapool there's not a chance of a traffic cop and very little traffic. It's a surprisingly smooth surface and the scenery is stunning. I'll be taking my new GTi up there as soon as possible...
