Hey everyone! I'm new round here and new to VWs. Bought my first today, (though dont actually have it yet!) a '95 1.8 GL. It has a few styling mods and a nice set of 15" matt black alloys. I didn't know about the alloys until I saw it today and had planned for the wheels to be the first thing to change. Quite like the ones on there though so I'm gonna keep 'em for now and lower it instead. Don't know all that much about lowering so I'm after some advice, eg. how low to go?(dodgy quality pics in the gallery), shocks and springs or just springs etc. Like I said, I'm new to this so go easy on me! Thanks for any help!

right.....
I origionally had 17s on my mk3. Most people will agree around here that a 40 mil drop will suit this size wheel best, and keep the ride from being too harsh.
However I have now gone to a deep dished 15" wheel and it looks like its back up on stilts. Im going for coilovers for the new year with a view to getting it down 50 at the front and maybe 70/80 at the back! Its all for the euro look, low and wide!
Your always best to do shocks and springs, although depending how low you go you might get away with just springs, 40 mil or more and i'd deffo do both!
