Whilst at my local garage today having my PAS belt tightened (couldnt be arsed to do it myself, and i was passing the door!), the mechanic said to me, "aint it time you got rid of this? We got a nice Mk3 on the forecourt!" Well, before i know it he is showing me around, and said lets take for a test drive, which we did. I was quite impressed with the inside, compared to the Mk2, but was really suprised at the difference in power compared to the Mk2. The Mk3 felt lethargic, not very impressed at all.
But here is the really worrying thing, for a moment i actually thought about swapping the old girl in !!!
I said i would go away and think about it, but after driving the Mk2 home and giving her a 'bit-o-stick', there is no way on earth i would swap her.
Phew, that was close !!!

from a mk3 owner, you made the right decision! You mk2 looks lovely, keep it for sure.
These car salesman are slippery buggers. One talked me into a pug 306 cabriolet the other day and I was thinkin about it for a short while, then we pulled back into the garage and i saw my mk3. It looked soo good, I would have hapily bought it if it was for sale, but i didnt need to. Common sence provailed thank god!
