Hi just got a VR6 for the wife and contemplateing a K/n induction kit is it worth it or is there a better or cheaper option?
Cheers
-
The only other option you have is to drill the airbox and hook up a cold air feed....replacing the paper filter with a pipercross or k&n one....personally id just buy the induction kit as they are only between 50 and 60 quid....
-
cheers mate...best place to buy from?
-
me!just so happens ive got a pretty good nik k&n that could do with cleaning but other than that its mint! replaced it as i thought i had problems but it wasnt that and the new 1 stayed on! gimme a shout if ya want it,make me an offer!
-
Hi mate is it a full induction kit (everything I need) and will you post it.....not sure what to offer you as I'm not sure what they cost new
-
its just the cone,i'll get a pic 2mo so u can see what it is.all u need is some cold air pipe that u can get from anywhere and its cheaper than the proper stuff!the k&n came off my vr6 and u get aload of adaptors to see which 1 fits best, the actual cone is the 1 for a vr6 so it should go straight on!

Cheers guys I've opted for a simple panel filter in the original box.....it is the wifes car I dont want her killing herself now do I

I was going to drill out the irbox on our Mk3 8v but my mechanic told me it would probably let water in...
Is it not advised on the 8v engines?
-
Depends where you drill the holes I guess!
-
If you dont drill the top of the box Id imagine there shouldnt be any watter getting in
-
i wouldnt bother and just get a cone!
