Hi just got a VR6 for the wife and contemplateing a K/n induction kit is it worth it or is there a better or cheaper option?

The only other option you have is to drill the airbox and hook up a cold air feed....replacing the paper filter with a pipercross or k&n one....personally id just buy the induction kit as they are only between 50 and 60 quid.... :smiley:

me!just so happens ive got a pretty good nik k&n that could do with cleaning but other than that its mint! replaced it as i thought i had problems but it wasnt that and the new 1 stayed on! gimme a shout if ya want it,make me an offer! :wink:

Hi mate is it a full induction kit (everything I need) and will you post it.....not sure what to offer you as I'm not sure what they cost new

its just the cone,i'll get a pic 2mo so u can see what it is.all u need is some cold air pipe that u can get from anywhere and its cheaper than the proper stuff!the k&n came off my vr6 and u get aload of adaptors to see which 1 fits best,the actual cone is the 1 for a vr6 so it should go straight on!  :wink:

i just tonight braught one off ebay for my 16v - raid hp - full kit for just under £70 including postage........hope its worth it!!!

Cheers guys I've opted for a simple panel filter in the original box.....it is the wifes car I dont want her killing herself now do I

I was going to drill out the irbox on our Mk3 8v but my mechanic told me it would probably let water in...

Is it not advised on the 8v engines?

If you dont drill the top of the box Id imagine there shouldnt be any watter getting in
