Just a quick hello.... good morning.... good nite(if other side of the world)
My Name is Matt as you can prob work out from my user name, Im 21 from London and have just purchased my first golf gti (MK4 1.8T)
Just got rid of my Clio 172 so need to get the power up on the golf quick as seems abit slow now compared to the clio. Any suggestions in what I can do to make the golf more lively??

depending on its age you can chip/re-map it which gives her a little extra go. Search for info in the mk4 section, theres pleanty of stuf in there. Otherwise just your normal exhaust, air filter stuf really.
Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay!

Hello
21..living in london and driving a 1.8t gti your insurance must cost some????
-
insurance is now just over half price compared to my 172! was paying £1600 full comp on the clio now paying £850 fully comp with 1 NCB and 1 accident 3 years ago and have a named driver on my policy who is 19 and only been driving 6 months (they wont be driving my car too often!)
Car needs chipping so that may put insurance up a little but need the extra power as need it to be the same sort of power as the clio.
Thanks for the welcome and im sure I will get 2 know ya all abit better as time goes by.

Welcome to the forum. Power gains as already described and the 1.8T is quite a tunable piece of kit, but if you're after the same power as your Clio then it's going to cost you some coin as the Clio weighs a hell of a lot less than the Golf for a start.
