Title: Hi-diddly-ho Golfarinos
Post by: gmac on 11 October 2006, 12:32
Hi all,

I'm Guy McKenna, 35, live in Fleet/Hants, own a used car site just up the road in Hook. Used to work for VW a few years back, and have had many a Dub in the past. I'm collecting my new GT TDi 170 DSG tomorrow, so will be coming here for some tuning advice, no doubt.

I really wanted a GTi, but after owning the Mitsubishi Evo8 I have now, I wanted something that was good on fuel, so plumped for the the oil burner instead. I have already got a set of Mk5 GTi alloys waiting to go on, and am just trying to figure out if the honeycombe grills will fit directly onto my GT bumper.

Nice looking site btw

Sure have. I think the Evo is somewhere around the 355nm mark, and the Tdi is 350nm, so pretty similar.

Big thing I'm looking forward to is saying goodbye to 17mpg

The Escort is a genuine flat front RS2000 (1978)

Got the oil burner on Thursday - very pleased with it so far (apart from one of the Xenons playing up last night, flickering like mad)

Felt the need to get a set of GTi alloys on as soon as possible

Nice new golf...and a lucky misses
I used to have a mk2 mexico and was great for a blast every now and then (unless it's wet and then you drive rather more carefull) but like most sane people decided not a good car for everday, now reliable comfy easy to drive golf time
