Is there any way of telling which factory my Mk3 was made at? I know there are codes in the VIN numbers on the Mk4s, does anything like this apply for the Mk3s?
-
According to my bentley manual, it's the last letter of the VIN (before the 6-digit unique Chassis no at the end).
M=Puebla, Mexico
K=Onsabruk, Germany
W=Wolfsburg, Germany

it has a W so that must be Wolfsburg - so the door pins don't lie!
-
I'm scared to look at mine, in case it's an 'M'.... :laugh:
-
That's why I wanted to know, so I would know whether to expect the doors to fall off anytime soon! :grin:

This did get me worrying as i have a few wolfsburg edition bit's fitted but i am guessing it's this letter i've done in bold
my chassis is WVWZZZ1HZSW****** and i guess that mean's it's a wolfsburg motor

does anyone know if this is the same for Mark 2's?
