Hi everyone im new here and ive just bought a golf gti turbo last week its done 60,000 and due a service is there anything i should get replaced like the cambelt?

There is also a ratteling noise at about 2000rpm could be the exhaust but not sure, has anyone else had this problem?

Any help would be great.

stick your head under the exhaust and give it shake to see if theres excessive movement, could be loose bracket, careful not to get any muck in your eyes!! make sure your spare tyre is housed correctly and none of the tools are loose. If its more of a deep clunk it could be your rear suspension bushes which could be worn by 60k. also cambelt should be changed at around 60k so get that done, if it goes it can cause massive damage to other components. hope this helps a bit

Some VW dealers say 1st change of cambelt due at 120k. got mine done at 70k to be safe. While they are doing the cambelt get the waterpump changed aswell.

Also get the pulleys/tensioners changed while they're there, too!

ps My dealer quoted cambelt @ 60k!!??
