Hello people...
Does anyone know what the difference is between a VR6 chin spoiler and a standard GTI one?
I think Ive got a VR6 one on my '93 8v GTI, but not sure.

The Vr6 chin spolier is deeper than the standard GTI one. The VR6 spolier is the same width/height all the way along, whereas the standard spolier is narrow then goes slightly wider/deeper at the front. The deeper spolier was fitted to early GTI's, although I think it was not fitted on later VR6's or at least my mate had a normal one on his '96 VR6

Yeah I think thats right, because my '96 16v has a normal spoiler.
I think I'll swop them round, the deeper spoiler looks so much better.
Cheers mate

Let me know where you get one from as considered the deeper one for mine. Cheapest I've seen is about ?30 for the whole thing (i.e. both halves of the spoiler) from www.gpcvwaudi.com. Never used them but sure someone on here could say yes or no.

I wont be buying one...just swaping the two around.
Ive got two cars: a '93 8v (with deep spoiler) and a '96 16v (with normal spoiler).
Im selling my 8v, so I think I should keep the deep spoiler, it looks loads better!

Yeah, I would swap them over as the deeper spoiler looks better, especially from the side
