Post by: snake16valve on 08 October 2006, 19:21
Can anyone on this forum tell me what sort of bhp does a standard vw scirocco gt 2 have.
I think it is a 1.8 8v...dont know if it is carb or injection.

Thanks for any info.

Scirocco GT2 and Scala I with the 1800 carb engine have 90PS which is about 88bhp, and the 1800 injection is basically and early Golf GTI engine on K-Jet so its 112bhp

I was just wondering !
I think i will stick with my mk2 golf gti 1.8 16v.
Think it's running at 140bhp. not sure.

Cheers again for the info.

yea, the 1800 carb engine doesnt set the world alight but they are quite light and nippy, a 1800 injection engine (GTI) should be quite fun in one of them. They used to do a 16v scirocco but they are very very rare and I think were all imports that came to this country so lhd

The rocco with the 1800 carb engine is a little quicker that a Golf with the same engine because it's lower and more aerodynamic. I know cos I tested my Mk2 GL Golf 1800 against my mates Rocco Scala 1800. But the difference in aerodynamics wasn't noticeable till you got above 60mph anyway.
