Title: bonnet catch stuck, cant close bonnet!

hey guys on my mk4 golf i closed the bonnet but the tag that u pull was pushed in and when the bonet went down it hit the top of the catch and locked it without locking the bonnet, so the bonnet is still open and the catch is locked,

well the catch wont open now! when i pull the handle it does nothing!
help me! cant drive me car and ive just bought it!

mine is bit tricky sometimes with the tag getting stuck in. Only thing i can think of u must have tried alreaddy..getting screw driver and pressing it into the catsh to replicate the bonnet being closed and hopefuly this will release the tag??  nothing more technical i'm afraid. i'm guessing you've been back in the drivers seat and pulled the bonnet release lever again??
