Title: Just Bought a 1999T Golf Gti 1.8 Turbo
Post by: Zayd on 08 October 2006, 02:25
I've joined the VW club and made a proud purchase of one of these amazing vehicles.  OK on to my ride;

69,000 miles * Metalic Mica Grey * Full Black Leather Interior * Ind. Controlled Heated Front Seats * Climatronic Air Con * Trip Computer *16in BBS VW Alloy Wheels* Rain Sensor Wipers * Winter Pack including headlight wash * 6CD Multi Changer * Three Rear Headrests * Cobra Alarm*

Now that I think of it I am beginning to believe the original owner didn't skimp on the options list.

Would anyone like to guess the price I paid.

Well it looks like I may have paid a little over then.  I bought the car for 5K.  I was very impressed with the build quality with these cars as I also have a BMW 530i Sport, Year 2000.  In comparison of quality there was not much in it.

I'll post some pics once I can find somewhere to host them.

The car is in immaculate condition and seems to have been looked after by the last owner who had it for four years.  He was very sad to see it go and kept changing his mind from selling to keeping it.  I didn't think too much of the extra badging he put on it either especially when he said, "It's not boy racer is it?".  Doesn't look too naff I suppose, but anyway here are the pics;

I have the Recaro interior with the walnut trim. including the gearknob.

Which other arrangments are available?

I have just never driven or been in a mark 4 with such a high interior spec as that, hence never seen the wallnut before
