Yeah the rocker cover doesn't half get hot! Your best bet in my opinion is deffinately high heat paint.
-
i sprayed mine with high temp spray paint, if smooth enough to start with can look quite good.

Haha, it's got to match the gloss black of my air filter  That needs a rub and respray come to think! its due it, after it was a bit bodged in the first place..
But finding black vht in gloss.. youre having a giraffe

just use hammerite, my whole engine was painted in it and the block gets alot hotter than a frickin rocker cover! ;)
-
Mine used to have ordinary hammerite on it, and it didnt last too long :( It now has High heat hammerite, which is a brilliant finish, which i know will last a long time!
Only problem is it is matt black, so it doesnt match the air filter cover, but hey!

Forgot to add, i periodically paint mine with Waxoyl, may sound funny, but it actually never sets due to the heat, so doesnt attract cack, and it makes it look shiny and nice :)

Ah ha, the good old Evening Post, I used to deliver that as a boy!
If you've seen my project thread you'll know that I sprayed my rocker cover Oak Green to match the car. Rocker covers get very hot, but then again do you know the temperature the paint gets in an bodyshop oven? Normal 'rattle' can paint will do the job sufficiently and unless you set it on fire (like me :embarassed: ) the paint won't crack.

I've used hammerite with no problems before, and alloy wheel paint, and more than once the contents of a half-used aerosol off the shelf that I didn't know the colour of until I started spraying. Never had a problem with heat making the paint blister.
