I recently got a Pioneer DEH-P2600R head unit for a VW Golf MK3. The car came without a head unit, heance no stereo cage. The Pioneer head unit was second hand and minus a stereo cage. The head unit was mounted in the MK3 dash to get some sounds but flopped around in the hole.
I bought an aftermarket stereo cage to find that it doesn't have the right cuts outs for the head unit or the dash to secure it properly. The stereo cage was only a cheap one.
Any recommendations for a retailer or make of stereo cage for a Pioneer and VW Golf MK3?
As always, your help is very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Dave

Just go to a good ICE dealer and ask them to give you a price for a genuine Pioneer cage

I got a genuine Alpine cage off Ebay when I had the same problem... only to find Alpine had changed the way their stereos clip in so it still didn't work.
All I did in the end was removed the small piece of trim to the left of the HU hole, and drove a single self-tapping wood screw in (through the plastic) far enough to push the side of the cage into the HU and hold it there. Works suprisingly well, and with the trim back on it looks completely normal
Has the added bonus of make my HU really easy to remove if I need to get to the back of it, pop off trim, undo screw a few turns and out she slides...

As mentioned, you'll have to source a gen Pioneer cage from somewhere. If availability is an issue, all Halfords stores will be able to order one from Pioneer direct - but I'd try the independent ICE dealers first as they'll probably be cheaper and might carry them in stock.
