Question time:

Q1. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm very nice , whats she like to drive

Q3. First I've heard of a Mini GP. I take  its a limited addition, whats the spec, bhp etc?

A. Yes only 2000, 218 min BHP, Lightend - no rear seats, alluminium suspension components etc!

Q4.  from what i know its got the S works kit , they ditched the back seats and then played with the suspension i think

A. Yes, upped power and lowered weight and handls much better!

Q5. It looks like you have the same taste in cars as myself, I would love to take that on Three Sisters or Silverstone

A.         Ta

Q5. mad wheels

A You bet ya!

one thing i think everything id dying to know is...

HOW DOES IT COMPARE TO THE R32? AND WHICH ONE IS BEST?
Title: Re: My Mini GP arrived today + Pics +
Post by: The Doc on 07 October 2006, 22:53
The R32 is faster, more polished, more capable and more practical.

The mini is pure fun from the get go and that is why I bought it - along with the exclusivity and residuals - this is not for "work" but my toy.

Its great to have both but if one had to go it would be the mini I'm afraid.

I would not like to be without an R32 DSG now!

Sun is shining and you have a trip to the lakes planned - a combination of motorway and awesome a and b roads.

What do you take? R32, Mini GP or 997 tt?

You lucky fecker!

I had a Cooper S before my GTi which would not be as fast as your GP at it was only 170bhp. Have to say I tired of it very quickly, was fun but cramped quite noisy and not really all that fast without reving it hard would be my summary.

Good job I've got the R32 for day to day and an extra 48 BHP

I owned two coopers in the uk and found them knackering on long journeys (55500 miles in 18 mths) but on the right bit of road they were great fun. i still prefer the mk 2 8v to my minis bit less of a handbag and more bearable on long trips (i had run flats and sport+ suspension which i do believe did nothing but hurt my back!) but yours is amazing v. impressed. still with you on the r32 though its a proper car minis are go karts with num plates

Yes I agree fun car mostly! I have covered a massive 87 miles in it in just over a week

R32 has 867 miles in under a month - good going for me that is - I normally live in my Gypo stylie caddy van

Post by: maximk2 on 12 October 2006, 21:27
caddy sounds like a beast mate! have you seen the new new mini? it looks like the designer got slightl pi$$ed and then drew exactly wat he drew last time round. Still that new BMW engine cant be bad news, well only if they got someone french to build it that is...........oh bugger!

were the old ones citroen engines?

????
Title: Re: My Mini GP arrived today + Pics +
Post by: maximk2 on 15 October 2006, 22:56
The old ones were built by chrysler in brazil and the new ones are a joint venture between peugeot and BMW and are built in France, hence the joke. The new car will be available some time next year and the new cooper s has a turbo engine not supercharged the new model was unveiled at the Paris salon. also the standard copper power will rise to 145 bhp so expect a crazy works cooper s!!!

Doc you make my head spin trying to keep up with you and all your new cars! How many have you had now and what would be your perfect 3 car garage?
Title: Re: My Mini GP arrived today + Pics +
Post by: The Doc on 16 October 2006, 15:59
Best 3 cars that I have owned

Citroen 2CV - taught me how to go around bends
Golf Mk2 GTi with GTI engineering conversion - my first "fast" car
Sierra RS500 Cosworth - Its a touring car for the road!

Perfect 3 that I can afford...

Range Rover - Great for off roading - Got another one coming in March - bad waiting list - order it 3 months ago!
Golf R32 - coz I love it and its practical, quick enough for day to day and people dont want to "key" it etc
Citroen XM with the maseratti engine - coz I just love 'em

Perfect 3 money no object...

Bugatti Veyron - the ultimate car
Mercedes Unimog - the ultimate off roader
Mercedes S63 AMG - the ultimate fast 4 door saloon

How about you???

That's a difficult one that changes every week. At moment can only afford to run my GTI.

Could sell my GTI and buy: Evo VI Makinen- To be a loon in
MK IV Diesel Golf (not bothered what spec)-work horse
                                           MK I MX5- Cheap thrills

My one day "affordable" 3 would be: My GTI.-Does every thing so well
350Z with nismo alloys and stainless pipe.- for some heterosexual arse out action
Lithchfield type 25.- To get the adrenalin pumping.

Money no object:My GTI, no only joking.
Ferrari F40.- For when in the mood
Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT.-sooo stylish. What better why to munch miles?
Aston Martin DB9 Sports pack.-best looking car for sale at mo. Oh and not slow.

Anyone else out there have a dream 3???

Best three I have had before the golf:

1972 Alfa Spider - great fun and easy to slide around (until I found it had been in a rather major accident)!
2003 Honda Civic Type R - bit badboy but great for an all out thrashing
2004 Honda S2000 - amazing engine

Three money no object:

Lamborghini Murcilago LP640
Ferrari Enzo
Audi RS4 Avant (ought to have one that is slightly practical!)

last 3: mini cooper, mini cooper and an ovlov 240 estate which was a drunken purchase. Me and my mates then proceeded to paint white "racing" stripes on it in dulux emulsion. nice!

dream 3: rolls royce phantom (nothing quite says ive arrived like one of these)
Ferrari 250gto: most valuable and cool car in the world
weissman roadster: classic lines with up to the minute drive and reliability.

That is such a sweet motor. It looks so much better in the metal than pictures do it justice though. Just wait to hear that supercharger whine when it's run in.
Suits you sir!
