Decided to finally do my headlamp loom properly, as the old one looked like this:

Didnt want to buy a ready made from Dizzie, although his did look a bit neater than mine! So, i got some plastic cases from Maplin, some black wire, and some bolts... oh and loads of connectors!
Made up the loom etc... glued the relays into the cases, and put some holes in the case for the factory connector to plug in. the bolts are for the live and earth to bolt to... Finally glued the cases to the car, and done! See what you think below!

as you can see, the original plug goes into the bottom, so no cutting of wires was needed. The bolts to the right take the live and earth connections, and a new plug goes to the light unit!
This is what the inside looks like:

What do you think, bit of a difference eh!? :D

The whole idea of the uprated loom was to reduce the lenght of the wire used for the headlamps. Taking this into consideration why didnt you mount the box on the other side closer to the battery? Also does that loom only power 1 lamp? Cant see a second set of wires going to the other side.

The box for the other side is hidden behind the battery. I have two boxes controlling the lights... one for each side! The only thing wrong with it is that the cable from the battery is a bit long on the right hand side, but thats it.

Oh i see. Thats different from the ones dizzie makes then as he only uses 2 relays. Still i like how you have done it with the boxes, much better than the relays hanging exposed.

mr mallows, i want to tlak to you aobut this thing a bit further, do you have a parts list or msn?

Definately, I've just had to replace my relay as it blew up after driving through a flood.
Like the idea of this box idea though, nice work herr mallows! :)
