Title: **Re-mapping ECU**
Post by: scaramachino on 29 September 2006, 23:22
How is the fuel economy affected when the ECU is re-mapped from standard 150bhp on a 1.8T??  Also, how much does it cost and where is best to get it done?

Did'nt affect my fuel economy, not unless you boot it everywhere, an average cost is about £4-500 and as for the question of where to get it done?  That depends what you want to spend and where about you live

i agree, got mine done in feb so 7months under my belt now, fuel economy no diff. Obviously if your foot is opinned to the floor you'll notice it (as well as no rubber left on yur tyres thanks to the inadequate traction control), but for normal driving no difference mate, possibly even slightly enhanced economy.

most of the re-map products sound comparable to me so you end up choosing one nearest where u live.
