 Does anyone know if i can fit mk3 hubs on a mk2 so i can use 5 stud wheels, is it a straight forward swap or more involved?????????????? Cheers

yes :)

ive taken the mk3 hubs and calipers and want to put it on my mk2! but i want to use 4 stud so i dont have to change my wheels! can i use a mk2 wheel bearing in the mk3 hub and a mk2 disc???
-
No you can't do it... I have the same issue which is why i'm running 5 stud alloys when I did my engine conversion  For the mk3 hubs you would need to change the wishbones, anti roll bars, trac krod ends and possibly driveshafts / cv's.

Weren't the early Mk3 hubs 4 stud?

depends I think on what size discs and calipers you are running. ive got the large 288's on mine

All non GTI and VR6 were 4 stud.

you can swap 4 stud hubs into 5 stud bearing carriers, but the problem is you also need to swap the wishbones as the balljoint mounting on the bone is offset differently which will throw out the castor. if you put the bones, shafts and trackrods on it'll go together, but you'll need to re-drill MK3 5 stud discs to suit.
If you use MK3 5 stud bones you also need to change the anti roll bar, but if you fit Passat 5 stud ones you can keep the MK2 one
