Ok my past threads have had little or no response perhaps people might be able to shed some light into this subject. Im gettin new alloys which when they come with tyres either have budgets or upgrades too toyo proxes t1s. Budgets must be a no-no and i havn't heard too much good said about the toyo's other than apparantly Top gear reccomends them! I have been told they are noisey and have alot of flex in the tyre wall. Is this true? What tyres can people reccomend 205 40 17. Cheers

I have toyo proxes on my VR6 (205\50\15). They are really grippy, but seem to be quite a soft compoud (hence the grip), so seem to wear quite quickly on the shoulders! Other than that they are good tyres. I think the newer ones have a better rubber compound on the edges to counteract the wear!
Hope this helps

Cheers apparantly the t1r's are a lot better. but before i shell out a shed load of cash for tyres be nice to know im gettin decent 1s. Anyone use goodyears bridgestones or yokahomas

habe a look at the mytyres site as you can select a tyre and read review/test for most of them.
i'm on toyo's and the the mutts nuts!
-
I'd go with the Toyo's too!
I have also had Yokohama's and they were good.
Most of the top Pirelli's are fine
BF Goodrich have some interesting tread patterns
And dont rule out Goodyear or Firestone if you want a good all round tyre.
But as Monkeyalan said that mytyres site is good and cheapest prices I have found too!

yep have checked out mytyres thats where i decided the t1s didnt sound great. but its good to know that people think they are cheap think il have the t1r's

i had some contis on my old 162 wheels and they were really good
at the mo i have toyo they can a bit slippy in the wet sometimes when i really boot it but i think it is because my wheels are 18"
