Title: brighter lights?

I have currently got the standard head light lamps in my Mk2 Gti and want to improve their quality as all too often they act more like candles. What strength bulbs would people reccomend me to put in instead and where can i get hold of them (any websites)?

I've heard good things about Philips Vision Plus, but before you upgrade the bulds you might wanna build one of them uprated headlight looms which use a relay to get a direct 12v feed.  Supposed to make alot of difference, you can either make one yourself or there is a guy on the www.clubgti.com forums who makes them for you for ?20

the same guy, Rustynuts, is on here - i bought one of his looms,  ?23, the difference it makes is unreal

I saw a guide to making up your own loom. I think it was on www.matey-matey.com. I'll double check for you....

...knew i wasn't going mad. Check out that website and click on "tech articles", there should be a good step-by-step guide on there.

Have a look in the classifieds section for questions and answers already covered. By the way its ?20 + ?2 P&P

Get uprated bulbs in and you will be laughing with a wiring kit.

I used to run 100/80w bulbs in my beetles after doing 12v conversions. them were right bright (technically illegal but I knew a guy at Bosch, but if you claim to race your car off road they can sell them to you).
