Title: Supercharge a mk2 8v
Post by: dubpolo1 on 28 September 2006, 17:19
Like the title says...would it be possible to stick a supercharger in my mk2 gti 8v?? using stock internals. Possibly a g lader for example from a corrado g60.

Dont know much about turbos/superchargers and everything else i would need. My engine is standard at the moment.

Also how much bhp would i expect?

simple answer..... no.
there are many reasons why and many different ways to get round it, all of them more expensive than buying a second hand g60 lump and doing it properly i'm afraid.

Joe's right - charging or any massive power increase like that will put a load of stress on the engine, never mind things like chamber shapes and compression ratios.
If it's bolt on power you need, you might as well tread the somewhat controversial line of nitrous oxide injection.

If your car is 90 spec, it would be quite easy to swap to a g60 lump.
