Post by: Dub-77 on 27 September 2006, 22:28
WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS ON A; KENWOOD KDC-W6531 http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/3284.html

I've been out of the ICE scene for a while and just want a run of the mill CD head unit that i can run my ipod through.

Cheers
Darren

Mate try these instead, the unit you suggest is ok, but some of these already come with the connector for ipod. The one you was looking, the connector was extra.

Try to get one with a decent DAC converter, will give you better sound.

Hope this helps

Digital to anologue converter, it's how it convert's the music. The higher the better, rated in bit's

For that price i'd go for it. :smug:

It really depends on what type of interface you go for - I'm not well up on exactly how the ipod head units work, but I would have thought  that it's the ipod doing the digital to audio converting, and if you go for a unit with an aux in connector, then that's definitely how it works.

Take a look at this -

It has FULL ipod compatiblity without using an adaptor box.  Supposed to be much faster than other types of interface.

Also, being alpine, it shouldn't disappoint in the sound quality department.  Hope this helps.
