Title: mark 2 dashlights not very bright

has the dimmer switch broken in your headlight switch? its that knurled little wheel thing!

ive turned that up all the way, and my teeth are brighter than the console is ;D

ok try another switch, or maybe your bulbs are week or a dodgy/loose connexion maybe?

I find that banging the top of the dash with your hand usually works........ ::)

Just so us know,i just realised a cud turn the lights up just yesterday ::) only had the car about 5-6 months! ::) Plus i always thought it looked a bit dim(bit like me sel!) ::)

jason i think the bulb over the rev counter has blown matey!!!< ive just changed both in me new one today!!! bit of a twot to to but only took and hour bulbs were 1.50 for 2 ;D

if when you have fitted new bulbs they are still (not very bright) then the 'dimmer' swith may be fauly but dont go buying a new switch!!! just loop it out!! its only a varialbe resistor!! loop it out then shell be bright!! , but i think its just the bulb above the rev counter blown!!!as theres light over the speedo and the clock lights up ok ;D

advice taken as vw charge way to much for switches
just eager to get this car up to original standard i is a perfectionist

Don't forget the brightness of your bulbs is dependant on how old they are, If they are very dim its a sure sign they are about to blow.

Also replace them all as it would be silly to do the job for one bulb and another blows a week later.
