okay when i go up hill or the car is under load (normally just up hills) i get this faint tapping noise infront of me, but when you ease the accelorator it goes untill i put more power down? i searched the site found it may be tappets or is it something else? can i drive it okay for the moment? its not very loud but it does annoys the hell out of me, been doing it for abit a week so will it be okay for the moment? i hear valvers tap abit anyway? true or not?
anything helpfull would be great! Thank you!

It could be the timing chain. Over the years they get loose and make a noise.
-
Could be tappets/timing chain or possibly big ends!
-
sounds most probably tappets , does the tapping get faster if you continues to accelerate ,
big ends are more of a rattle than a tap id have said
-
My timing chain only rattled when under load. Bearings will do the same usually. Tappets seem to tapp all the time when dodgy.
-
it stops tapping after you ge over 4k revs an it drives like normal a,d idle just fine only when pulling up hills?
-
They are hydraulic tappets arnt they ?
if so it could be somethin to do with your oil level or oil pump , bottom end bearing rattle wouldnt stop over a certain revs
-
oil was done less that 500 miles ago, so looks like tappets they dont do it much but will have some take a look to be sure :) thanks for your help!
