Short of spending a fortune on a turbo (which if it is an option trade in your car for a 1.8t instead!) you can add an cold induction kit, possible remap, exhaust...

Nothing like what you'd expect off a tdi or turbo but u can remap them to about 125-130bhp for about £250-400 (Chipped uk were cheap when i was looking although id prefer a more well known company for more) should also gain a bit more torque which should feel noticeably quicker. A panel filter(green)/CAI and cat back exhaust will help a little but after these three mods it gets a little steep with the next step, a supercharger  mainly because if anyones done one its usually in the states therefore LHD and a 1.8t works out cheaper.

seriously, if its an option don't do anything to this car, save some cash, trade it in later for a 1.8T/V6/GT TDI 150 mate. you'll end up spending fortune and won't et the power you're looking for. having said that u can still make it look the part with few minor styling tweeks and crank out few extra horses if that will satisfy you
