As far as I can tell the spark plugs on my 1.8T have never been changed, it has 68k on the clock, I have just recently had the cam belt done. The car runs fine and there is no misfire etc at all. Would it be benificial to replace the spark plugs with new platinum ones? What would the advantages be? Does anyone know where I can get them cheaply from the net as VW want 15squid each for them I think?
Thanks.

Hi
It sounds as though you car has the NGK Platinum plugs in, I belive these last around 60-70K, but I have my dout about that.
If you can PM your engine and vin number I can confirm this, but if you have been quotred ?15.00ish each, thats sounds like platinum.
I can do NGK platinum plugs at ?8.09 each plus vat delivered to the UK mainland.
My contact details are shown below.
